Former Combatants' Involvement in Crime and Crime Prevention

This paper is based on nine interviews with people who work or have worked with former combatants or are involved in crime prevention. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The paper further reflects upon involvement of former combatants in crime, analyzing the context of South Africa's failure to successfully reintegrate former combatants into civilian society.
