This paper provides the results of a comprehensive survey on relations between police and the community in Grahamstown, as well as a series of recommendations informed by this research. The research was commissioned by the Commission on Policing in Grahamstown.

Janine Rauch, an independent consultant, is the former Director of a technical advisory facility designed to Strengthen the Uganda Government's Anti-Corruption Response (SUGAR). She obtained her MPhil Criminology from Cambridge University and Post Graduate Diploma Monitoring & Evaluation Methods Monitoring & Evaluation Methods from Stellenbosch University.

Graeme Simpson
Graeme Simpson, Co-founder of CSVR and former Executive Director, is an experienced peacebuilder with international expertise in violence, reconciliation and transitional justice. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from The University of the Witwatersrand, Master's degree History from the University of The Witwatersrand and BA Hons History; African Politics; Industrial sociology from The University of the Witwatersrand.
